Meghan is a current second year nursing student at Santa Rosa Junior College and is also enrolled at
Sonoma State University to earn her Bachelors in Nursing. She is a first generation Irish-American
college student. Before entering nursing, Meghan studied microbiology and has completed the Biology,
Chemistry, Calculus, and Physics series. She currently serves as co-president of the Student Nurse
Association at SRJC.
Meghan works in the Biological Sciences Department as a Science Laboratory Instructional Assistant for
Introductory Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology. With over two years of tutoring experience at HOPE,
Meghan assists students in Anatomy, Physiology, Social Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, TEAS exam, and
Nursing studies. She is passionate about volunteering and serves on committees for the American Red
Cross and Sonoma-Marin Alzheimer’s Association. Meghan’s career goals include earning her doctorate
as a nurse practioner and teaching at a community college.
Some fun facts about Meghan include her enthusiasm for plant and mushroom identification,
backpacking, painting, reading, and rock climbing. Seen in the photo is Meghan’s furry companion named
Jade. As an advocate for active learning techniques, Meghan understands the importance of engaging
students in the learning process. She works to create interactive learning environments that promote
critical thinking, problem-solving, and understanding of the subject matter. Meghan utilizes the most
recent and relevant studies in active learning to challenge and empower students. She looks forward to
supporting you in your academic journey.
